Head of Engineering - Commerce & Customer Digital Platform

In charge of managing our platform engineering team (20+ members direct reports),
Attached to our Digital Data department, for our âCommon Digital Platformâ transformation project,
You are our leader of platform engineering, bringing a culture of software engineering across all product teams, and leading our platform to be best-in-class engineered, following best practices & guidelines of software design & development.
You and your team are the ones representing the international platform mindset, and structuring the environment to lead our products being Worldwide Platform Ready.
As Head of Engineering, you are in charge of making the right decision (technology, products, make or buy, architecture) associated with our business requirements.
Using our company tool chains, you support features teams to continuously improve their velocity, increasing their quality levels, while reducing the effort needed to deploy.
You are key to entertain this culture deck of engineering inside the platform, by providing principles and framework serving the business, and forge a mindset of openness : build way fast innersource and opensource ready products.
đŻÂ MissionsÂ
- Lead an engineering team dedicated to the platform, composed of architects, software engineers, quality engineers.
- Setup a culture of Software engineering, driving the technical construction of the platforms
- Structure and drive products teams to follow the platform engineering framework, aiming to forge international best-in-class retail platforms.
- Build the engineering ecosystem dedicated to the platform, used by all features teams, to easily build products following best practices and guidelines of software engineering (design, build, and deploy)
- Support features teams to handle their engineering transformation without efforts about modular architecture, continuous delivery principles, quality assurance and control policies
- Structure and support all products teams to create inner sources and open source products
- Strengthen and support our Cloud Native transformation, through a software engineering prism
- Infuse a self-commitment data-driven culture, with strong transversal collective rituals & animations. Every team should easily improve their efficiency from their own datas.

- Significant knowledge on SaaS Platform Engineering fundamentals
- Significant knowledge on distributed system architecture (event-based, cqrs, domain driven)
- Significant knowledge in Continuous Delivery principles and Software Delivery principles/toolchains in product-driven organization
- Knowledge of cloud PaaS services, affinities with Google Cloud Platform is appreciated
- Knowledge of Site Reliability engineering principles
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices
đ PROFILE
- 8+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in multicultural contexts, with human management of 20+ people, composed of Architects, Software engineers & developers, quality engineers.
- 5+ years of experience working on SaaS platforms and Retail Omnicommerce ecosystem, building products/applications for Retail Omnicommerce solutions
- Strong experiences on building SaaS platform/products frameworks and guidelines (architecture, best-practices, principles) with transformational leadership
- Strong experiences structuring quality initiatives, for QA and QC, aiming to pilot adoption of continuous delivery principles inside products teams
- Experiences on following Reliability engineering principles, with embedded quality control and assurance
- Multiple experiences in Software development lifecycle, with some practical experiences in industrialisation/automatisation of environments and security policies
- Experiences on interacting with others management functions, including budget management, customer service and engineering departments
- Strong experience in change management inside IT engineering teams, with performance driving.
